Don't Expect Rush To Get A Second Chance
CNBC Sports Business Reporter
ESPN is reporting that Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding for the St. Louis Rams.

Then came the oddsmakers. Sportsbook.com said it would pay out $450 for every $100 placed on Limbaugh to own the team. That’s about as long as a longshot can be in a three-horse race of this type.
America has voted and here's the rub: If you can quarterback an NFL team, you can kill dogs and you deserve a second chance. But if you make a racist comment, your boatloads of cash aren't welcome.
Here’s the most important thing to remember. It was evident from the beginning that Limbaugh was never going to be the team’s future managing partner, so there’s really no reason to have him there unless there’s not a single person out there who would be willing to pony up the money Limbaugh had committed to.
Now big money is certainly big money and it means more now than ever before. If Limbaugh’s big pockets led to his group offering $850 million for the team instead of $150 million less, then this wouldn’t have been such an easy decision. But there are other groups to choose from who are reportedly within the same range.
Some expect Limbaugh to fight Checketts. I don’t. I expect the straight shooter in Roger Goodell to call Limbaugh up and say his money is not welcome at any time. You can do that when you’re a private business. Even if you are trying to assist in selling a hopeless team.
